A woman in China tried to commit suicide by slicing his own arm and was pronounced dead by emergency room physicians. But not until the 30th minute, his eyes opened again. Doctors finally protested. Why what?
Protest addressed to the emergency medical team that handles the 85-year- old woman, in her haste to say die. The statement is based on vital signs that are not detected, as well as the pulse of the electrocardiogram.
She was a 85-year-old senior, who lived in an apartment in Jinkou Road, Pudong City. He was found lying lifeless by his son, who then immediately call the emergency services. The doctors also agreed, the patient declared dead.
But unexpectedly, the unnamed woman opened her eyes when the doctor was taking his remains for forensic purposes. More frightening yet, so the woman held out her hand up to the doctors and shook hands.
Instead of getting thanked for his patients to live longer, the doctors were even protests. Because within 30 minutes from the state until the victim died later life, there is no relief is given because it was mistaken for a real dead.
"It turned out that my mother had not died. Why did the doctors did not help him, even chimed in to say he's dead?" Bian regret, the daughter of actor attempts suicide, as quoted from Shanghaidaily, Friday (03/08/2012).
Women who tried to commit suicide is now in stable condition. But the handling of the doctors in this case remains regrettable by the Shanghai Medical Emergency Center.
"If they wait a 5 minutes to help the victims, and do not believe it on the machine (electrocardiogram), they could help her," said Dong, an official from the Shanghai Medical Emergency Center.
According to Dong, the standard procedure requires the physician to seek emergency aid for at least 30 minutes, no matter how small the chances for survival. The relief may only be terminated if there is a request from the family.
But Dong can understand these events because of the limitations of health workers who want to work in emergency services. As a result, excessive workload and paced in a hurry, because the day can help an officer in the 11th place respectively.
